Mini-Game Project

Today we finished up on the Mini-Game project. It was fun to see how all of the components came together to create a simple, cool little game. It is amazing all of the work that goes into such a simple game and definitely gives me a new appreciation for game designers such as Halo: Reach's executive producer Joseph Tung and creative director Marcus Lehto. Well we are a long way from creating a game like Halo; however, I'm proud of the simple game we created! Check out our game and let me know what you think!

Flash in a ............Flash

Today in class if you are finished with both the Playing to Learn assignment and the Choosing a Topic assignment  (That means you have completed the work on your projects page, blogged, and updated your learning log), I would like for you to watch this video.



The video will be a good introduction to Flash which we will be working with tomorrow in the Mini-Game Assignment. My suggestion to you is that you put on your earphones and work through this video with the instructor. Post any work you do to your projects page. Be sure to follow the guidelines for uploading files and name each file in the correct format. If you don't remember how, go back to the main LHS wiki and you will find instructions.

Game Review

One of the games I reviewed for the Playing to Learn assignment was an adventure game called, "What Would You Do?" Adventure games are my favorite genre because they require careful thought and consideration on the part of the player.

This game in particular is a great game for teens because it teaches them how simple choices they make can have a huge impact on their lives. The game focuses on teen relationships and deals with topics such as dating, friendship, and HIV. To try this game visit the UNICEF - Voices of Youth page.  Be sure to let me know what you think!

Globaloria Take Two!

This is the second year for Globaloria at Liberty High School and I really looking forward to seeing all that the students in my Digital Imaging class can accomplish. It has been a rough start with some technology issues but things are only getting better.

This year the students will be designing games based on the Civics and News knowledge area. I am hoping that the students will design and create games that will not only entertain but also provoke thought and engage learning.
